Water is scientifically represented as H2O. AccadueO is the name of the cooperative that Mariano Rodo, Giovanni Esposito and myself established 24 years ago. Our objective was to build a group allowing new, young partners. Our working tool was the sea, the sea that embraces and surrounds Pantelleria, with its deep blue that makes you confidence and inspires respect.
I was the first President, and my task was not easy at all. I remember my first step was to sign an agreement with EDIN then President. The goal was to train a group of young people, make them obtain their sailing license and finally provide them the necessary funds to buy a boat to show tourists how the island of the sesi looked from the sea.
We provided raining for underwater activities and courses for sailing licenses, both for recreational crafts or yachts. We had also thought about building an indoor pool for free swimming and dive courses for students and workers, for water polo teams from the various contradas. Some partners would have also managed the docking related tasks in all harbours in Pantelleria and harbour related operations using our own equipment.
AccadueO was meant to be the heart of the Marine Park whose project was presented in summer 1989 during the Marine Carnation in Pantelleria, a meeting about the sea around the island organised by Professor Pino Giaccone from University of Catania. In his essays he talked about the proposal for a zoning and the restrictions for a Marine Natural Reserve in Pantelleria.
Accadueo – The Company
EThe proposal well explained the future perspectives and advantages such a thing would have meant for the island. Many years have passed, but I still remember the energy and passion around all my projects, indeed many projects. AccadueO keeps going. I wish today’s President Mariano Rodo and all partners to go on, remembering each and every one…

The company management always followed the evolution of the infrastructures in the harbour and the relative laws, leading to the authorization to assist all incoming and outgoing ships from all Pantelleria harbours since January 1991 in accordance with Chapter 68 Codice della Navigazione. Since July 2010 we are authorized to carry out the harbour related tasks in all Pantelleria harbours.
To carry n such activities we use our worker members.
We are also working to allow our company to provide in transit boating services in the medium term, such as information about the harbour, the island and relative services, as well as mooring facilities.
Services
“Cantieri Navali Esposito S.n.c.”, with basin and towing facilities for boats up to 100 tons, operates in the new harbour .
It provides floating landings and quays, can perform maintenance on crafts and boats. It can also provide sheds for harbourage of such boats.
Bunkering is operated by Dal Zotto S.a.s., located on the second tooth of the Wojtila dock.
